Fifth Annual Heritage Charity Golf Classic Raises over $100,000 for American Cancer Society.

This year's 2004 Heritage Charity Golf Classic held on Thursday, September 30 and Friday, October 1, 2004 proved another great time for everyone involved. Fine golf camaraderie, foursomes, and a magnificent total of over $100,000 was raised for the American Cancer Society. In return, Lennar was presented with the Society Award from the American Cancer Society, making this 5th holding of the Classic the most memorable yet for the 225 golfers who attended.

A fitting prelude to the American Cancer Society presentation and the awards ceremony was former Georgetown University Basketball Coach Craig Esherick who addressed the golfers at the closing ceremonies and accepted the donation check from Lennar.
Just as exciting, the American Cancer Society surprised Lennar by announcing the creation of the new Lennar Legacy of Leadership Award. This award will be given annually to either an individual or corporation that in the opinion of the American Caner Society meets the high standards and criteria for which Lennar has set the example with the Charity Classic event.

The Heritage Charity Golf Classic has become as notable as a “must attend” annual occasion as for its significant contributions over the years to the American Cancer Society. This memorable event combines a superb championship golf course setting, contests, prizes, giveaways, a breakfast buffet, a catered luncheon, a formal dinner and awards ceremony with participation in a notable good cause which has raised over $300,000 for the American Cancer Society in the last five years.
